Pain of the Macho (March 2007) The final shot for Pain of the Macho was captured on 11th of March.
Pain of the Macho is a film about a Latin man in his late 20s (starring Matias Stevens), who is struggling to find love in his life. The Macho (our main protagonist) opens up to a stranger in a bar, explaining how he has come to a realization that his life is about nothing more then meaningless sex and one night stands, after he had finally found the girl of his dreams (starring Leilani Wyatt). Broken hearted he tells the tale, of how he met and lost the perfect girl. Juxtaposed with flashbacks of the wild night, the script takes the audience through laughs and cries, in its 5 minute duration.
CREW Pain of the Macho was shot by a skeleton crew due to the fact that some of the locations we shot at were rather 'tight'. Doch Gypsy Orchestra - Powerhouse - 2006 Managed by Nick Lavers, Doch Gypsy Orchestra and Friends (total of 27 musicians) perform annually at the Brisbane Powerhouse every October. At the film's studio recording Nick Lavers was introduced to the vocal abilities of Goran Maric Macak, the lead singer of Dream Band, who was chosen by Lav Productions to sing this song for the movie. Since then, Nick and Goran have been able to collaborate further, as Nick incorporated Goran's vocals in couple of other songs that were performed at this years Doch Gypsy Orchestra concert. Dragan Milovanovic, Klavijaturista, accordionist of Dream Band, was also, invited to perform with Doch Gypsy Orchestra.
